Description
Inventory #16I2105. This is the remains of the old fort that once stood at Lee's Ferry. Before there was a bridge over the Colorado River, there was a ferry run by John D. Lee. He and his family lived in this most remote region and operated the ferry for many years. When trouble arose with the Navajo, a fort was constructed. This building served as the fort, later a school and even a residence.
