Description
Inventory #16I2143E. Lee's Ferry is a wide spot in the Colorado just below a bend in the river as it passes through Marble Canyon. Before the Navajo Bridge was built, this was the only place where one could cross the river - on a ferry run by the Lee family. Lee's Ferry is just a few miles below the Glen Canyon Dam in Arizona. This is one of the very few place along the Colorado where one can drive right down to the river. Because of that, it is the popular put-in place for rafters going on down the river and is the take-out place for kayakers that have come down from the dam.
On this particular day, storm clouds were hovering over Marble Canyon, promising rain that never came.
