Description
Inventory #16I2317EEEE. This is the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry in Marble Canyon south of Page, Arizona. Lee's Ferry is where people could cross the river before the bridge was built. Even though there is now a bridge, people still flock to Lee's Ferry. It is the put-in location for rafters going downriver, and the take-out place for kayakers coming down from the Glen Canyon Dam. Here the river bends, and slows a bit, and the mountains give way to a large flat. The Paria River comes down out of the Vermillion Cliffs to join the Colorado here, and its flood plain is wide. These storm clouds promised rain, but all we got was virga!
