Inventory #48E4053. This ancient saguaro was found along the Phon Sutton road off the Bush Highway just north of Mesa, AZ. It has the most arms I have ever seen on one saguaro and the many arms indicate that it is quite old. This area was involved in the Cactus Fire burn of early 2017 and it has been damaged. I plan to keep an eye on this old-timer.

A photographer since the age of 8 when I received my first camera as a gift from my grandmother, I learned the art of photography by studying such current great artists as George Lepp, Dewitt Jones and Art Wolfe. My inspiration is God's beautiful creation, and I attempt to record it faithfully, shooting landscapes, flowers, animals, and anything that captures my fancy. I shot film until 2012 when I purchased my first pro digital camera. Now I do both, and do all of the creation in the camera before the snap. If the image isn't good enough to print as taken, it is discarded instead of being "improved" through Photoshop. I have my own darkroom and love making my own prints from negatives.
