Description
Inventory #48#9254. This is a view of Canyon de Chelly from the top of the cliff wall - about 700 feet up. The walls of this canyon are very sheer. Some of the Anazasi ruins are on the valley floor, while others are well up the cliff side. The de Chelly creek meanders along the valley floor, watering trees, fields and livestock. "Chelly" (pronounced "shay") is a Spanish mispronunciation of the Navajo name for the canyon - Tseyi.
